This notice is compulsory reading and regulates the conditions of use that must be observed and respected by users of this website. This notice should be read carefully, since the act of accessing the site and using the materials contained therein implies that the user has read and accepted, without exception, the following conditions.

General information In compliance with the Law of Services of the Information Society and Electronic Commerce, and other complementary legislation, we inform you that the owner of the web site is the area of the Campus for Peace and Solidarity of the Foundation for the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya –herein known as the FUOC, with registered offices at Avinguda del Tibidabo, 39-43 (08035 Barcelona, Spain), with tax registration number G60667813 and inscribed in the Registre de Fundacions de la Generalitat de Catalunya with the number 842.

2. Conditions of use of the web page Campus for Peace and Solidarity, in the framework of its activities, offers users a series of contents which they can make rational use of in order to meet their information needs with the aim of informing about our humanitarian and solidarity activities, our projects, campaigns and educational activities, sponsors and collaborators, in addition to carrying out the recruitment of volunteers for our projects, and sending commercial information, though they cannot be used for commercial purposes.

Access to our web page is free and does not require prior subscription or registration. Nevertheless, for the utilization of certain services prior subscription and filling out of forms may be required. These cases will be duly identified, indicating at all times the procedures that must be followed to carry out the corresponding registration.

The user must accede to our web page in conformity with good faith, the rules of public order, the present General Conditions of Use, and in certain cases, the specific conditions of use that may be applicable. Access to our website is undertaken under the individual and exclusive responsibility of the user, who will be accountable in all instances for damages that he/she may cause to third parties or to us.

It is expressly prohibited for the user to utilize and obtain the services and contents offered in the present web page for procedures other than those stipulated in the present conditions of use and, where applicable, in the particular conditions that regulate the acquisition of certain services.

This web page contains links or hyperlinks that take users to other web pages administered by third parties not connected to our organization. For this reason, the FUOC cannot guarantee or take responsibility for the contents or information contained in the aforementioned web pages, nor for their being accurate and/or up-to-date and, in consequence, the FUOC remains exempt from liability for all types of damages that may derive from the utilization of web pages other than our own.

At any time, we may modify the presentation and configuration of our web and may even remove it from the net, along with the services and contents being rendered, all of this unilaterally and without prior notice.

3. Intellectual Property rights The FUOC is owner or license-holder, where applicable, of the Industrial and Intellectual Property rights for all of the contents on this website (including, but not limited to, all those elements that form its visual presentation, graphics and other sensorial stimuli on the pages that make up the website, i.e., its aspect and comportment or ‘look and feel’, brands, logotypes, commercial names, texts, criticisms and commentaries, images, graphics, designs, sounds, databases, software, flow diagrams, presentation, navigation architecture and font codes for the web pages). Whatever the case may be, the FUOC has the corresponding consent for use of the different contents that make up this website.

The FUOC expressly authorizes the reproduction of the contents of this website for private use. Nonetheless, the FUOC states that due to the fact that it receives many selfless contributions, this authorization does not include the reproduction, transformation and, in general, any other form of exploitation, by whatever procedure, of the contents of the website, for commercial or lucrative ends.

Except for the authorization for private use mentioned in the previous paragraph, or unless explicitly permitted, the access to this website does not imply the granting of any kind of permission, transmission, license or complete or partial cession of any of its contents. The FUOC shall not accept any responsibility that may derive from any alteration or manipulation of this website by third parties.

Lastly, and in the framework of diffusion of content offered on this website, the establishment of links to the web page of the FUOC by third parties is expressly authorized, provided these links do not have commercial or lucrative ends. In any case, the links established by third parties have to inform the user that they are accessing the FUOC's website and they must show the URL corresponding to this web page in the browser.

The establishment of links by third parties does not imply the existence of any kind of association between the FUOC and the owners of said links.

4. Limitation of liability Putting this web page at the disposal of the user, we wish to offer him/her a series of services and quality contents, using the maximum diligence in their provision and in the technological means employed. Nevertheless, although the FUOC has adopted security measures permitted by the current state of technology, it cannot guarantee the complete absence of viruses or harmful elements.

The FUOC does not assume any liability derived from, or that may be derived from, the use that users make of the information and contents of this website. Despite having taken all the measures necessary to insure that the website’s information be up-to-date and correct, the FUOC cannot guarantee that all the information provided be up-to-date and free from errors or omissions.

The opinions that appear in publications, journals and articles accessible from the website belong to their respective authors. Likewise, the FUOC shall not accept any responsibility related to information and contents of any kind that have been provided by third parties and which can be accessed from the website; in particular, it shall not be held responsible for any kind of damage or prejudice linked to the above and which may be derived from the: (i) absence of or deficiencies in the information provided to users or in its accuracy, exactitude and sufficiency; (ii) infringement of the rights of consumers and users; (iii) infringement of intellectual and industrial property rights, undertaking of acts of unfair competition or illicit publicity; (iv) infringement of the right of data protection; the professional secret and the rights to honor, personal and family intimacy and image of individuals; and (v) in general, the breach of any applicable laws, customs or codes of conduct.

The user assumes all liability derived from the use of our web page, being solely responsible for any effect, direct or indirect, that is derived from the web page, including, but not limited to, all economic, technical and/or legal adverse, and the fraud of the expectations generated by our portal, obliging the user to maintain the FUOC unscathed by any claims directly or indirectly derived from these events.

All that refers to our web page is governed exclusively by the laws of the Spanish State. In the case that any type of discrepancy or difference occurs between parties in relation to the interpretation and content of the present web page, all parts will submit, with expressed renunciation of any other jurisdiction, to the Courts and Tribunals of Barcelona.

The FUOC reserves the right to suspend, temporarily or indefinitely, access to its website for causes related to the improvement, maintenance or revision of its contents or programming, as well as for any other reason.

5. Data confidentiality policy In compliance with the Law 15/1999, of December 13, on protection of personal data, we inform that data of a personal nature that is solicited in our forms or that may be provided to us via our electronic mail address, will be included in a personal data file designated Campus for Peace and Solidarity, under the responsibility and ownership of the FUOC. Likewise, when a person fills out any form with the requested personal data and accepts it being sent via e-mail, he/she expressly authorizes the FUOC to process or incorporate in our file the personal data provided and all data created with respect to his/her participation or use of the different products or services that are offered on this web page, though revocable and without retroactive effects.

Likewise, we inform you that all data will be treated with maximum confidentiality and in accordance with current regulations on the subject of protection of personal data, and that our files are legally registered in the General Register of Personal Data.

Except where the contrary is specifically stated, it is necessary to fill in all fields of each form with true, exact, complete and current information. The user will be the sole party responsible for any damages, direct or indirect, that he/she causes to the FUOC or to any third party resulting from the filling out of forms with false, inaccurate, incomplete or non-current information, or with third party data.

It is important that, in order to keep your personal data up-to-date, you inform us in the event of any modification; otherwise, we will not vouch for their veracity.

Purposes of the processing The data we request from you is suitable, pertinent and strictly necessary for the purpose for which it is collected, and shall never be used for any other purpose other than that for which it has been ceded.

Our web page obtains your personal data through the reception of forms and electronic mail for the following purposes: to inform about our humanitarian and solidary activities, our projects, campaigns and educational activities, and to carry out the recruitment of volunteers for our projects and send commercial information.

The FUOC reserves the right to decide to incorporate, or not, your personal data in their files.

Rights of access, rectification and cancellation of your personal data The user has the right to access the information that concerns him/her compiled in the files of the FUOC, to correct it if it is erroneous, cancel it or oppose its processing, in the terms established by the Law, addressing him/herself to: FUNDACIÓ UNIVERSITAT OBERTA DE CATALUNYA – Responsable Protecció Dades - (Rambla Poblenou, 156 08018 de Barcelona).

We consider that if you do not cancel your personal data expressly from our files, you remain interested in having it included until the FUOC considers it appropriate and as long as it is suitable for the purpose for which it was obtained.

Security The FUOC has adopted the legally required security levels for the protection of personal data and has installed all available means and technical measures to avoid the loss, incorrect use, alteration of the personal data provided and unauthorized access to this data, as demanded by current regulations on the subject of security of personal data.

Cession of data The user accepts that their data may be ceded exclusively for those ends described above to Campus for Peace and Solidarity-participated organizations necessary for the development of our projects and volunteer activities. The user’s acceptance that his/her personal data may be processed or ceded in the way stipulated herein can always be revoked, without retroactive effects, in accordance with what is stipulated in articles 6 and 11 of Organic Law 15/1999, of December 13.

Cookies With this warning, the FUOC communicates to the users who utilize cookies when navigating through the different screens and web pages. The cookies used by the FUOC are stored on the user’s hard disk, but cannot read the data contained on the drive or cookie files created by other providers. The FUOC uses cookies with the aim of recognizing registered users in order to offer them better and more personalized service (the user's preferred language, etc.). Likewise, they are used to obtain completely anonymous information concerning access data (date, hour, minute, frequency, etc.), in order to measure some of the traffic parameters on the website itself and estimate the number of visits, so that the FUOC may focus on and adjust the services being offered more effectively. Nevertheless, the user may prevent the generation of cookies by selecting the corresponding option on their own navigator. In this case, the web page will continue to be operative, but without the advantages of personalization.

6. Modification of this privacy policy The FUOC reserves the right to modify its data protection policy in accordance with its own criteria, or due to a change in the legislation, jurisprudence or business practices. If the FUOC introduces any modification, the new text will be published on this very web page, where the user will be provided with information on the data protection policy. In any case, relations with users shall be governed by the regulations in force at the precise moment in which they access the website.

Commercial communications by electronic mail In compliance with article 21 of the Law of Services of the Information Society and Electronic Commerce, which prohibits the sending of commercial communications via electronic mail that has not received prior express authorization by its addressees, we inform you that acceptance of the present conditions of use implies your express authorization for sending you our commercial, publicity and promotional mailings by this means and to the provided address. Notwithstanding, if you do not wish to receive our commercial communications by electronic mail, you may request them in the commercial mailing of your choosing, following the instructions as indicated.
