The UOC hosted the National and European Solar 2006 awards ceremony; these prizes are awarded by the EUROSOLAR Association to organisations, companies and institutions which have made important contributions to the use of solar energy

Presentation ceremony 09/02/2007 The press conference began in the morning with presentations by organisers of the event including the Vice President of EUROSOLAR, Mr Josep Puig; the General Manager of Triodos Bank in Spain, Mr Esteban Barroso, and the Director of the Campus for Peace and Solidarity, Mr Eduard Vinyamata.

Josep Puig presented the objectives of EUROSOLAR, which include making it possible to substitute fossil and nuclear energies with free, clean and renewable energies. In turn, Esteban Barroso highlighted the support offered by Triodos Bank in the development of renewable energy and sustainability. Eduard Vinyamata also highlighted the UOC's support for these kinds of initiatives.
