The UOC, through the Campus for Peace and Solidarity, participated in the presentation of the first video competition for the campaign on globalisation “Fem del Món la Terra de Tothom” (Let's make the world a place for all of us)

Poster Manos Unidas CampaignPoster for the Mans Unides Campaign As part of its “Fem del Món la Terra de Tothom” (Let's make the world a place for all of us) campaign, Mans Unides held its first video and short animation competition open for public participation. Entries had to present an original perspective on the phenomena of globalisation in order to raise society's awareness of this issue. The works selected were exhibited in January 2006 at Barcelona's Centre for Contemporary Culture. The Campus for Peace and Solidarity collaborated by publicising the campaign and opening it up to the students of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia, UOC).

Mans Unides is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation fighting hunger, malnutrition, poverty, illness, underdevelopment, lack of education, injustice, inequality, poor distribution of goods and opportunities among people and communities, ignorance, indifference and the crisis in human values since 1960.
