The UOC launches the “Culture of Peace” campaignMay 10 2007
To launch the “Culture of Peace” campaign, the UOC is organising a presentation ceremony to take place on the May 10 at 12:00 in the UOC's Auditorium, at Av. Tibidabo 39, Barcelona. During the conference, Professor Joan Campàs will present the paper entitled “Deconstruction of classical myth in Picasso’s Guernica”. Professor Campàs shows how Picasso, inspired by Rubens's The Horrors of War, made Guernica a clear argument in favour of peace.

The main aim of the agreement signed by the non-profit organisation Turismo Justo (Fair Tourism) and the Unió Catalana d'Agències de Viatges Emissores (Association of Catalan Travel Agents, UCAVE) is to promote responsibility and sustainability in the tourism sector. Turismo Justo collaborates with the Campus for Peace and Solidarity and is supported by the UOC's Tourism Studies department.

The Campus for Peace and Solidarity reaches 100 virtual volunteers March 1 2007
The UOC's Campus for Peace and Solidarity now has more than 100 virtual volunteers. Graduates, students, administrative staff, professors and other collaborators make their knowledge available to organisations working in the field of solidarity, cooperation and development.

The UOC's Campus for Peace and Solidarity together with the Dominican Republic's Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) launch the “Living, Living Together and Surviving” project, within a framework programme to strengthen civil society in the Dominican Republic.

The Red Cross continues its e-learning programmes for its volunteers through the UOC

The President of the Spanish Red Cross, Juan Manuel Suárez del Toro, and the Rector of the UOC, Imma Tubella, have renewed the agreement signed by the two institutions in 2000 in order to continue to offer e-learning.
