The website (http://www.manuelcastells.info/en/index.htm) displays information on Castells' academic books, book chapters, scholarly articles, research reports, and ongoing research projects. It also includes a detailed, and updated professional C.V. of Manuel Castells, as well as reviews of Castells books and references of the studies conducted on his work in various countries and in several languages. The web site contains a selection of interviews and media reports from various countries on Professor Castells. The website can be consulted in Catalan, Spanish and English. A significant part of the documents that there are on the website, as well as other documents and research materials not available on line and that are part of his personal archive, can be consulted in person at the IN3 research library of the Open University of Catalonia. Manuel Castells is a Research professor at the UOC, and Professor Emeritus of Sociology and of City&Regional Planning, University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of nineteen books, including the three-volume book The Information Age: Economy, Society, and Culture (Blackwell, Oxford, 1996-2003), which has been translated into twenty-two languages. He is as well a co-author and editor of twenty two books. The academic distinctions bestowed on Professor Castells include the Wright Mills Award from the American Society for Social Studies, the Lynd Award from the American Sociological Association, the Ithiel de Sola Pool Award from the American Political Science Association, the Order of Arts and Letters from the French Government, the Order Narcis Monturiol from the Catalan Government, twelve honorary doctorates, as well as several University Medals and Honorary Professorships from around the world. He is a Fellow of the Spanish Royal Academy of Economics and Finance, a Fellow of the British Academy and a Fellow of the European Academy. He is also a member of the Scientific Council of the European Research Council appointed by the European Commission.
