The UOC holds its graduation ceremony in Madrid
[12/11/2009]
This Saturday, 14 November, Madrid's National Music Auditorium is to be the setting for the graduation ceremony for the UOC's latest graduates. More than 5,500 students from around the world have completed their studies during the academic year 2008-2009. The President, Imma Tubella, is to preside over the event, which is also to involve other members of the UOC's governing team. The patron for this year's graduates is Manuel Campo Vidal, journalist and Director of the Instituto de Comunicación Empresarial (Business Communication Institute). The graduates will be represented by Nuria Arroyo Jerez, graduate in Advertising and Public Relations.

This graduation ceremony acts as official recognition of the 5,500 new graduates who have successfully completed one of the courses offered by the UOC. The ceremony coincides with the 15th anniversary of the UOC, a university with a total of 22,500 graduates throughout the world. In the words of the President, “for the UOC, the graduates’ achievements bring meaning to the task that society has commissioned us with”.

The Madrid event is the first of two graduation ceremonies to be organised by the University this year. On Saturday 28 November, Imma Tubella will again share in this special moment with graduates and their companions in Barcelona’s Auditorium.

UOC Alumni

The University has developed the UOC Alumni initiative in order to provide graduates with a forum for personal, academic and professional development. It began in 2008 with the aim of acting as a platform for international relations between the University and society, helping increase the quality and prestige of the UOC’s qualifications.
