Internet Interdisciplinary Institute
Seminar
With François Bar, University of Southern California, IN3 Visiting Professor
Monday, 22 March 2010 (14:30 - 16:30)
'Open' has become a central keyword for Information and Communication Technologies. From “Open Source” software to “Open Access” publications, “Open Innovation” strategies and “Open Networks”, nobody wants to be or appear closed. Yet, the reality of openness is a complex one. This seminar will explore the various concepts behind this seemingly universal yearning for openness, investigate the motivations of the various actors, and examine its implications.
